4 X NBA Champion, with 3x's NBA Finals MVP trophies to go with it. 15 X NBA All-Star, with 3x's NBA All-Star MVP to go with it. With over 28,500 points scored, and well over 13,000 rebounds, The Los Angeles Lakers retired the greatest center's jersey last night. Shaqille O'Neal's accomplishments throughout his career, most notably with the Lakers, are more than footnotes in his storied career. 
Shaq signed to the Lakers in 1996, the same year a young Kobe Bryant was traded to L.A. It was a match made in heaven, as the "Dynamic Duo" brought GREATNESS back to Los Angeles, bringing 3 Championships back-to-back! A true Dynasty, and talent that could not be matched, and has yet to be seen again.
Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013 goes down in the history books as the day a Laker Legend saw his jersey hung among the greats that came before him. Magic Johnson, Jerry West aka "The NBA Symbol", and Wilt Chamberlain. A well deserved honor for his dedication to the greatest franchise in basketball history. The game will never be the same.
