RACISM IN AMERICA: THE PLAGUE OF "REVERSE RACISM" IN THIS COUNTRY

Tuesday, April 29, 2014

KickGame DVD has supporters all over the globe, including the U.K., China, Japan, Italy, and France. It doesn't matter what color you are, we are all the same in the sneaker community. Our culture doesn't care about what color you are, rather what colorways are coming out on the new kicks dropping. Unfortunately, there are still people in the country that practice RACISM on a daily basis.
Donald Sterling, owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, is a racist from the beginning. He owns the Beverly Center, one of the premiere shopping spots in L.A. He also owns vast properties, from luxury apartment complexes, to beach front homes. He won't rent to Blacks and Latinos. He is also a lawyer, and he will not represent anybody Black or Latino, no matter how much money is involved. But this is not the extent of his RACIST behavior. Let's discuss a few things before we go on.
As young Black people, it is good to travel to other countries to see how people of color are treated around the world. In Venice, Italy, there is still a small section strictly for the Jewish community. It is called "The Ghetto". The Jews were the FIRST group of people to LIVE in the ghetto. Jews are, unfortunately, not highly respected in Italy. So when I see Jewish people stick their nose up at Blacks and Latinos, the Jewish community has perpetuated a way of thinking that was once forced upon them. Forcing that same way of thinking onto Blacks and Latinos is a prime example of "reverse racism".
The picture above is of Scott Sterling, Donald Sterling's son. I knew Scott. We had many conversations about sports, and life. Scott was hooked on drugs, and he said it was because "he didn't get any love from his father." Scott told me instead of a hug, he got money thrown at him. $200,000 here, $300,000 there. Scott said he didn't need money for clothes, cars, or houses because that was all provided for him. Scott spent his money on drugs.
Scott was a real dude. He would give us tickets to go see the Clippers, and we'd sit in the third row. He was a great guy. I would talk to Scott about how important life is, and he was still young enough to change his life around. I never got the chance to ask Scott if he knew God. Scott passed away from an overdose on January 1, 2013. It's sad that Scott couldn't even get the love from his father, according to him, because his father is so consumed with hatred.
We need a powerful leader, not a politician, who can address this issue head on. Racism exists over different colors of people. Gang members fight over colors. We need someone to stand up, who is unafraid to speak on this issue. Someone is is not afraid to "offend their political connects." Until then, I guess everything will still be Black & White.  Cali "O" #TeamKickGame #MyBrothersKeeper #GodIsGreat #WakeUp
