The dunks during the 2010 NBA Dunk Contest were easily outshined by the sneakers worn by the contestants, particularly that of Lakers high-flyer Shannon Brown. He wore a sick pair of the Nike Zoom Kobe V iD with a colourway voted in by fans, but had the online voting not occurred, Brown was set to wear the above pictured colourway of the Kobe VPE. At this point, there seems to be no story behind the choice of colors; the turquoise sole, blue midsole, silver/black upper, and red lining have no connection with his Michigan State alma mater, nor do they pay homage to his Lakers team.
