Kobe always gives props back to his hometown of Philly, and his school, Lower Merion. The Aces were the team that gave the Masked Mamba all the tools he needed to get right for the NBA. Since joining Nike, he's been able to pay respect to his alma mater. This time, he does it with the Kobe VII's "Lower Merion" joints.The school colorway of cranberry red/gray is still in place on these, with the "Ace" logo embedded on the back of the sneakers.
Seems like the theme on this one was for "Away" games, with cranberry red taking over the front panel of the kicks. For the VI's, we saw an all gray front panel, signaling a "Home" game edition.
