R.I.P. to MCA, one third of the illest white boys from Brooklyn, the Beastie Boys. Back in 1986, the Beastie Boys made noise because they were endorsed by Russell Simmons, Rick Rubin, and Run-D.M.C. When the album, "License To Ill" dropped, they solidified themselves as true artists, not just white rappers out to make a dollar.
The Beastie Boys were embraced by the Black community and the Hip-Hop culture for being themselves, and for puttin' out dope music. "No Sleep 'til Brooklyn" and "Paul Revere" is still Hip-Hop classics this very day. Young cats who don't know about 'em, def do ya homework. I remember seein' them at Madison Square Garden on the Fresh Fest Tour. 1988. Beastie Boys were part of the Def Jam Empire when Russell still had hair, and LL couldn't live without his Radio. Salute. Cali "O" #RIP #BeastieBoys
