THROWBACK THURSDAYS: THE WU-TANG DUNKS!!

Thursday, August 16, 2012

Do you remember the first time you heard Wu-Tang's "Protect Ya Neck" or "Method Man"? I remember seeing a posse in the video, the song was ill, and Ol' Dirty Bastard (R.I.P) came in with wild energy! Enter The Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers is a Hip-Hop Classic, and Wu-Tang Clan came to take over the world.
The crew from Staten Island and Brooklyn made countless classics and contributions to Hip-Hop in music and fashion. Wu-Wear was a million-dollar company at its height. Noticing a cuture wave following the Wu, Nike execs stepped in to offer what became a classic collaboration. The Wu-Tang "Killer Bees" Dunk High came out in 1999, and was an instant favorite, also starting a new generation of sneakerheads. The cult following was felt all over the world, and these Wu Dunks made the buzz louder.
The Yellow "Goldenrod" and Black leather used to create these dunks, patterned after the original Wu-Tang logo. The Wu symbol on the tongue and rear side panels let you know off top you were rockin' with legendary kicks. 13 years later, you can still find these rare sneakers, but the WU legend that surrounds it may have you paying anywhere between $4,000 and up. You already know, you can't put a price tag on GREATNESS.  Cali "O" #TeamKickGame #TheLegendContinues #WuTangForever
