LAST NIGHT, YANKEE STADIUM: THE MOVEMENT CONTINUES

Sunday, July 21, 2013

Yesterday was EPIC. Hov and Bey joined Rev. Al Sharpton, along with Trayvon Martin's mother Sabrina, in a rally for justice for Trayvon. In fact, over 100 cities around the country joined together and rallied in front of court houses and government buildings in a quest for JUSTICE. It's crazy when you think about how Martin Luther King Jr. fought for equal rights back in the 60's, and in 2013, we're still fighting for it. However, there is only so much pressure one pipe can take before it explodes.
From President Obama to Jay-Z, I salute them for not worrying about being "politically correct" given the temperature of the Trayvon Martin Ruling. Last night, Mello was in Yankee Stadium to witness the "Legends of the Summer", the tour headlined by Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake. Watching two great performers put on a great show for the city, the tone remained the same. Thousands of lighters were held in the air for Trayvon. That was to remind you that this fight will continue until we win. We will not sweep this under the rug.
We will get back to our regularly scheduled program when we feel we are being taken seriously. When the RESPECT we deserve as people reaches the height of equal rights, then we can sit down and continue that conversation. Until then, you know what it is.  Cali "O" #TeamKickGame #WeFightLikeSoldiers #WeStandTogether
