I remember it like it was yesterday. Kanye made the announcement that he was making the transition to Adidas. West went on to say "Nike didn't respect me enough to give me the money I deserved on the back end of the deal." That was almost 4 years ago. Since then, Kanye helped bring Adidas back into the spotlight and continues to push one of the best collaborations in the culture. Back in 2015, Kanye was spotted wearing the "Milk" White Yeezy's. The soon to be iconic sneaker will be released to the public on April 29th!
A release for the entire family, the new Yeezy's will surely be a summertime favorite. I haven't been a fan of an all-white sneaker in a long time. If I do wear a white sneaker, my go-to is the Stan Smith's or the Shell-Top Adidas, although I have a White-On-White pair of AF1's ready to go!
We knew Kanye was a game-changer, and his track record speaks for itself. When the Adidas' Yeezy first dropped, many were on the fence because it was so different than his previous releases. He proved that using new materials, challenging himself with different designs, and taking a leap on faith with a new company - that BELIEVED in his vision.
It's safe to say, in a world where a simple shoe doesn't garner alot of attention, Kanye reinvented the way we examine new designs, and how being ahead of the game allows you to be a catalyst in a culture thats over saturated.
