There was a time when Mutombo was great. Back in '91, he was a top draft pick in the NBA for the Denver Nuggets. In his second season, Adidas scooped him up for a million dollar endorsement. Thus, we have the second best basketball classic (behind the Ewings) from Adidas.
The Mutombo shoe is crazy even 'til this day because of the details in the shoe. The African warrior shield that stood out on the tongue, the tribal print alongside the panels of the sneakers, the lace locks. Adidas definitely made a heavy impression on sneaker heads with these legendary kicks...Melo
