The year was 1997, and Adidas was scoopin' everybody for endorsement deals. They were competing heavy wit Nike. A young Kobe was picked up for an Adidas line, the "Crazy 8's". These were the kicks Kobe wore when he won the Dunk Contest....IN CLEVELAND!!(No Pun intended.)
