Now in its eighth year, the
OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital collection of limited Nike footwear, designed by patients of
Doernbecher, have raised over $3 million for the medical center. This year, as with every year, six participants contributed their personalized designs, in part to tell their stories and another as symbolic encouragements to other diagnosed with the same disease. In the case of
Bair, its just a simple inspiration of “Be Brave” with a lightening bolt
. Imprinted on the
sockliner inside, a simple statement “Just Like Everybody Else” abolishes the stigma those with illness sometime goes through. The Nike Air Max 95 by Daniel
Bair will be available at $145 for adult sizes and $95 for youth editions, with all proceeds going to
OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. The collection will officially launch on Saturday, November 5
th, at select Nike retail locations.
