A LOOK BACK: MICHAEL JORDAN'S WALK THROUGH HISTORY
Thursday, February 21, 2013
From the moment Michael Jordan was passed up in the NBA Draft by the Portland Trailblazers for Sam Bowie, he had something to prove. Michael told himself, just for being picked second, he was going to show the world he was the best. He came through the door, and left fire in his trails. Mike was no joke.
1986, when he shook Larry Bird and the Celtics to dominate the game with 63 points, the world took notice. Yes, Larry Bird said 25 years ago, he never witnessed anything like Michael Jordan. Throughout his legendary career, Mike also dominated the shoe game, with a then-small company called Nike. Together, they would form a superpower that was virtually unkown to mankind. From the Jordan 1's to the 18's, which was the final pair His Airness wore on the court, every sneaker symbolized another chapter in his epic saga.
Could you imagine if we could go back in time, and re-live some of those moments? I remember where I was, watchin' Mike hit the "Last Shot" against Utah. I remember what I was doing when Mike took over the Garden, and made Ewing and Starks have a seat. Mike turned 50. I'm glad he's still around to hear how much he's still loved. By us.
