KING OF NEW YORK: BERNARD KING INDUCTED INTO NBA HALL OF FAME!!
Monday, April 8, 2013
Former New York Knicks Forward and 4x NBA All-Star Bernard King will finally be inducted into the 2013 NBA Hall of Fame. A Brooklyn native, Bernard King came into the NBA in 1977 from the University of Tennessee. His first team was the New Jersey Nets, but Bernard's career took off when he got to New York.
Bernard King was versatile, playing both the Shooting Guard and Small Forward positions. In 15 seasons, he scored almost 20,000 points and amassed over 5,000 rebounds. Carmelo Anthony, along with King, are the only two Knicks in franchise history to score 40-plus points in three consecutive games. Melo recently stated "Bernard King should've been inducted into the Hall of Fame a long time ago." We couldn't agree more.
This year's ceremony will also see 9x All-Star Gary Payton, and former Boston Celtics coach Rick Pitino joing the ranks among the NBA's elite. Salute to Bernard King, though. This achievement is history in the making. Cali "O" #TeamKickGame #BernardKing #LivingLegend #BrooklynStandUp #KingOfNewYork
