We haven't seen a roster this star-studded since the Lakers had Karl Malone and Gary Peyton. And if history serves us correctly, we know how that turned out. Although its still the beginning of the season, do the Brooklyn Nets have what it takes to win it all?
Is it just me, or does it seem like since Hov "left the building" the Nets are not the same franchise they were last season? With the addition of vets like Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Jason Terry, the solid roster looks intimidating on paper. Yet, last night, the Nets couldn't dig deep enough to put away the undefeated Pacers.
With former NBA Champion player-turned-coach Jason Kidd, who is a veteran point guard who knows how to dictate the floor, his "success rate" as a coach is on the fence right now. Kidd is coaching an "All-Star" team, and I'm sure the Management in the Nets' front office is looking at this the same way.
Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, KG, Paul Pierce, Brooke Lopez, Jason Terry (who won his NBA ring in Dallas with his coach), and Andre Kirilenko. I just named almost 50% of the roster who made the actual All-Star roster at some point in their career. Kidd is going to have to do a better job at coaching, maybe bring in a veteran assistant like a Brian Shaw who can give him the help he needs to make it happen.
We will revisit this issue at the All-Star break, and see where Brooklyn is headed; to the Championship trophy? or will it be an early "fishing season"? Only time will tell if they have what it takes to bring the ring to the borough! Cali "O" #TeamKickGame #BroadcastingLiveFromLosAngeles #ReppinTheBoroughTho
