Jordan Brand is celebrating another win. This one dates back 23 years ago. We're on the heels of Air Jordan's 23rd Anniversary for his first NBA title, rocking the Jordan VI's. A special Pack is being created in his honor, to define the celebratory status of that era. It is properly entitled the "Cigars & Champagne" Pack.
The "Cigar" VI's are a combination of new ideas and old greatness. The colorway of the coveted "Bin23" collection is present here, on the tongue, midsole, laces, and pull tab. The Jordan lace cover is finished in a Gold background with the classic Red Jumpman. What stands out on these kicks is the smoked Green leather, that is reminiscent of a good Cuban Habano or Churchill Cigars. Arturo Fuente also makes a good cigar with a green finish. I've had the pleasure of a good Cuban cigar, and to see the detail in the smoked Green finish on the leather is quite impressive.
With a badge imprint on the back of the sneaker, symbolizing Air Jordan's commitment to excellence, the kicks also feature championship ring lace locks. The sole is finished in an infrared/ translucent ice sole, what we've been accustomed to seeing on these incredible kicks.
You can't quite celebrate without champagne right? You need the right bottle of expensive bubbles to allow the festivities to begin the right way!
I'm not big on champagne, but these VI's are a nice way to lean. As you look at these kicks, your thoughts automatically travel to a nice bottle of Spades, or Dom P. With a forest Green patent leather canvas, the "Champagne" VI's are complimented with Gold splashes on a black midsole. The Gold lace cover is finished with a Black Jumpman. What really forces these kicks to stand out is the translucent pull tabs, and tongues.
I would've loved to see Gold splashes within the pull tabs and tongue, to give the sneakers a little more flair.
