In 2007 the Air Jordan Spizike – black/varsity red-classic green was the second release in the Air Jordan Spizikes series. It features a black suede upper with green and red accents, and a patent leather strip that runs around the front end of the shoe. The inner lining also features some intricate design. This shoe sold well, as it was highly anticipated, and definitely lived up to the hype.the first color way is White/Varsity Red-Classic Green and was a East Coast exclusive. This pair was indeed limited, while only 4032 pairs released, but rumor has it some pairs did release unnumbered.
The shoe was created to pay homage to Mars Blackmon aka Spike Lee. Spike’s part in the rising of the Air Jordan was very crucial. A lot of people may remember the funny commercials Spike Lee’s alias Mars Blackmon from the movie She’s Gotta Have it.But "I'm Sure" most of you already know this.
However what a a lot of people "Don't Know" is what inspired the first Two colors. Spike wanted them to be designed with a "African Liberation Flag" color scheme.'Red' is for the Blood-'Black' is for the People-'Green' is for the Land. Only Spike can manage to Sneak in a "Black History" Air Jordan colorway. Not to mention "a picture of himself wearing a BROOKLYN hat!". Plus represent his Classic "40 Acres" clothing line on the same shoe. Today we Salute the "BHM" Spizikes!!
