RECOGNIZE: "42" IS THE HIGHEST GROSSING FILM ON ITS OPENING WEEKEND!!

Monday, April 15, 2013

The Jackie Robinson movie "42", was the highest grossing movie in its opening weekend, grossing close to $30 Million in 3 days. Final box office numbers will be in tomorrow, but the movie already surpassed the $17 million critics said it would do. Although it's not about numbers, as much as it is about the story of a sports icon.
Chadwick Boseman, who has an amazing resemblance to Jackie Robinson, does an incredible job with making the story come to life. Harrison Ford, known as "Indiana Jones", also played an amazing role in bringing the temperature of that era to the audience. Mello, like the great dad he is, took "Polo" Jo to see it, as our father took Mello to see "Malcolm X" back when he was around that age.
Jackie Robinson was a hero for all of us, because he defied negative energy. He was determined to make his dream come true, no matter what color he was. To know all of what took place in the movie happened right around the corner (Ebbets Field, Crown Heights, Brooklyn) is living proof how historic that section of Brooklyn really is. FACT: Every baseball team in the MLB retired the number "42" from their team in honor of Jackie's accomplishments, and the legacy he left behind.
If you haven't seen this movie yet, go see it. Bring your family. Enrich yourself with history, and a real story like its never been told.  Cali "O" #TeamKickGame #BrooklynWeGoHard
