Ben Schaffer was the Studio Director for Nike's "Innovation Kitchen", known for whipping up recipes for great kicks. He's also the creator of FlyKnit, and his technological advances helped keep Nike ahead of its competitors.
It was Schaffer who was also involved in the creation of the Nike FuelBand, an extension of Nike +, in which the wristband communicates through bluetooh to track your daily excercises and calorie counts. Apple and Nike formed their partnership back in 2006, when then-CEO Steve Jobs saw the imminent connection between sneakers and technology. Thus, Nike + was born. Schaffer's involvement with Nike + and the FuelBand made him the go-to guy who could help engineer the next phase, which will be Apple's iWatch.
Since July, 2013, Apple is hard at work trying to complete the iWatch project, and hiring epople from different fields to assist in their next big endeavor. The Apple iWatch will read like a mini iPad for your wrist, with Nike + compatability, as well as phone and email features. Ben Schaffer is jumping on board to to give the iWatch its "technological depth", and developing necessary apps as well.
The iWatch should be unveiled in the summer of 2014, and the connection between Nike and Apple's technology continues to grow even stronger. Cali "O" #TeamKickGame #TheFutureOnYourWrist #Apple #iWatch
