This is 12 year old Isaac Azrate, and his life is the inspiration for the upcoming Doernbecher Air Jordan V's. Back in January of 2012, Isaac suffered a heart attack while playing basketball. He was taken into the hospital for treatment, and was released. It was during his stay at Doernbecher Chldren's Hospital that his story became one of hope, like so many other children before him. Unfortunately, On April 20, 2012, Isaac suffered another heart attack while playing baseball. He passed away shortly thereafter.
Isaac's Air Jordan x Doernbecher 5's will be his lasting mark on the world. A 12 year old whose life was called too early. His words are printed on the Patent Leather that wraps the entire top panel, including the tongue. The interior of these kicks are finished with premium leather, and Isaac's initials, as well as the dates of his arrival and departure are placed on the back of the tongue. The blue ice gel sole finishes these sneakers with the utmost respect to Isaac.
