15 YEARS: WE STILL REMEMBER THE GREATEST M.C.!!

Feels like almost yesterday. Runnin' up to the Bad Boy office to chill, hangin' out wit Craig Mack. Or, more fond memories of the crew hangin' wit the legendary Brooklyn King, Biggie and his crew up at Esso. Hova would come thru in a Do-rag and some slippers wit a bottle of champagne in his hand. Those were the days.
15 years have gone by, and we ask "where did the time go?" Every year we celebrate with the music of one of Hip-Hop's most iconic figures. We still remember his lyrics like he just spit it. The swag, the look. The tone and cadence in his voice.
I remember thinkin' "if I get on a song wit BIG, I'm gon kill it!!" but he had so many cats in line. Every song Biggie touched was magic. When Mello (yes, CEO of KickGame DVD) was about 10 or 11, He came to stay wit me in the Bronx. I got a promo tape from Puff the day before called "West Side Story". Biggie was bodyin' all Snoop and Dre beats! At the end of the tape, there was a song introducin' the Lox wit BIG called "You'll See". When I played the joints, Mello and Specs both liked what Biggie was spittin', and I told them this dude is bout to take over Hip-Hop. True Story.
I can go on for days. Biggie represented everything great about Brooklyn, and being young and Black in America. THROWBACK THURSDAY: PATRICK EWING!!

When Patrick Ewing came into the League from Georgetown in 1985, New Yorkers KNEW there was a great chance of becoming Champions. Patrick Ewing was a 7'0 Center that played like an animal! His presence in the paint was undeniable, and many players found that out!!
When Ewing first put on the Kicks uniform, he was rockin' Nike sneakers. He would be seen in AF1's, Nike Court Force, and Delta Force kicks. In 1986, Adidas scooped him up, and put out the Ewing Hi-Top sneaker that is still a part of our sneaker culture this very day.
Ewing is the only player to ever play 1,000 games in a Knicks uniform. He is now an assistant coach for the Orlando Magic, coaching the man who broke his record for the most blocked shots in an NBA Finals game, Dwight Howard.
The NBA Finals, 1994 and 1998. Ewing led the Knicks into the Finals twice, losing to the Rockets, then to the Spurs. But what Ewing did for the City is unmatched, and his signature kicks will remain a big part of our culture forever. Cali "O" #Salute

I wanna start this off by saying the commissioner of the NBA "David Stern" is a HATER. He blocked Chris Paul from becoming a Laker just because he has the power to do it. Sounds like a dictator to me. Players should be able to choose where they want to play period. That's like your current boss deciding where your next job will be..That's BUFFOONERY!.
To add insult to injury the Lakers organization decided to trade "Lamar Odom"(again) to Dallas. Guess what they acquired for the reigning "6th Man Of The Year"? , NOTHING!.
There is still about a week until the season begins so we don't know what can go down. Maybe we can acquire somebody to fill Lamar's spot. However we still do have the best player in the NBA. So regardless to what goes down we know that "The Black Mamba's" gonna be motivated to prove a point this season. And you know what goes down when he's in that zone (81 points,MVP trophy's,Championships..etc).

On December 4th Jay-Z celebrated his 42nd birthday. We wanna salute Hove for continuing to hold down his position as hip hop's ambassador!.

Somebody once told me, "Jay-Z isn't the best rapper. He just does incredible things & then raps about it.".
I can live with that..

R.I.P. "Heavy D" dead at 44

Hip-Hop Icon Heavy D. passed away yesterday at the age of 44. Heavy D., real name Dwight Meyers, returned to his Beverly Hills condo around 11:30 a.m. from shopping. As he exited his car, he passed out from shortness of breath. Paramedics arrived, transporting Heav to Cedar-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. Doctors tried vigorously to revive the legend, but was pronounced dead at 1 p.m. Pacific Time.
Heavy D. was the first "overwieght" rapper that catered to the women and being fresh. Notorious B.I.G. even gave it up to Heavy, who put Biggie on his albums long before the world knew of the greatest Brooklyn M.C. Heavy also produced hits for Jay-Z("Guns N Roses"), and Carl Thomas("Summer Rain").
Heavy D. will forever be known as the M.C. that put Mt. Vernon on the map, with "Mr. Big Stuff", "Money Earnin' Mt. Vernon", and Girlz, They Love Me." Hip-Hop definitely lost an ambassador. R.I.P. Heavy D.

Michael Jordan Cover Athlete for NBA 2K12

NBA 2K12 has officially unveiled one of the covers to their upcoming NBA 2K12 and by the looks of it, the GOAT is back for another run. Michael Jordan will grace 1 of 3 covers to NBA 2K12. As 2K11 players undoubtedly remember, MJ and the Jordan Brand were integral parts of 2K11 with the Jordan Challenges and all of the unlockable Jordan sneakers. There is no word yet on how deep the Michael Jordan/Jordan Brand integration will be this time around but, once I hear something, it will be posted.

In addition to the MJ cover, Larry the Legend and Magic Johnson will also be covering the 2K12.
