END OF AN ERA: JASON KIDD RETIRES FROM BASKETBALL!!
Sunday, June 9, 2013
Jason Kidd was one of those players who can fly "under the radar" and still give his team the points and assists to win the game. Kidd will always be known for giving his team a degree of consistency throughout the season. Drafted back in 1994 by Dallas, Jason Kidd is a 10x All-Star, earning his first Chip in 2012 with his second run in Dallas.
Back in 2002 and 2003, while ballin' with the New Jersey Nets and teammate Kenyon Martin, Kidd led the Nets to two NBA Finals. This past season, Kidd and Kenyon Martin reunited once again, this time with Carmelo Anthony in New York. The Knicks had a hell of a run, but fell short in the 2nd round of the Playoffs, Kidd's 19th season, which will be his last.
Jason Kidd will be remembered for being a leader at the point guard position, as well as a player with ill sneakers. Jason had a nice run with Nike, earning his own shoe, the Nike Zoom Flight 95. One of the most memorable pair of kicks, Nike re-released the Zoom Flight 95 in 2008. In 2012, Nike honored Jason Kidd and his legacy with a limited edition pack of Zoom Flight 95's in the colorways of the teams he played for. Jason was also blessed throughout his career with PE's from Jordan Brand. This included the 12's, 13's, 19's, and 23's.
We salute Jason Kidd for what he brought not only to the game of basketball, but for a memorable sneaker game as well. Cali "O" #TeamKickGame #JasonKidd #Peace
