Moncler, a high-end Italian brand mostly known for their popular line of jackets, has begun branching out into other areas of fashion such as shoes and apparel. For the Spring/Summer 2010 collection, Moncler introduces their new line of Monaco sneakers ($350). Here you can see the tan suede and the white leather low top colorways, which feature tricolor stripes on the sides with a Moncler logo print, a rubberized logo Moncler patch on the tongue and a rubber midsole. While these shoes borrow many design characteristics from Adidas, I have no doubt that Moncler’s Monaco sneaker will be a must have among luxury enthusiast.
Rihanna was spotted rocking a Moncler S Sonomi Ruffle Windbreaker jacket ($900) in white. The Moncler S is a capsule women’s collection created in collaboration with Japanese designer Abe Chitose of Sacai for the Spring/Summer 2010. Based on a skirt dress design, the Sonomi Ruffle jacket features a nylon asymmetric zip front windbreaker with a mock collar, zipper pockets and a ruffle hem.NICE!!!
Pharrell Williams was spotted celebrating his collaboration with Italian brand Moncler at an Art Basel dinner hosted by Moncler President/Creative Director Remo Ruffini (seen left). Mr. Williams was wearing one of the pieces from the collaboration, which features a vest jacket designed using material from his own Bionic Yarn company. The Pharrell Williams x Moncler collection is expected to be released sometime next Fall.
Italian down company, Moncler is branching out of out and expanding its roots by reaching into the industry with a new collection, Moncler V.Now to hop on the Moncler V Collection is musician-artist-entrepreneur extraordinaire, Pharrell Williams. So far, the collection includes a reversible black puffer vest (inspired by bullet-proof vests) with Velcro side slits. Turning the vest inside out, the lining is a print fusing art and nature created by Japanese artist, Keita Sugiura. Check out the “pacifist” puffer version of a bullet-proof vest and stay tuned for more release information to come!
Nas was spotted KILLING a Moncler Liberation Vest Jacket ($985), featuring plaid and pocket on the front & matching hat. He was also wearing a pair of Adidas Centennial Mid NBA sneakers ($80), which were first released in the 80’s featuring suede on the upper portion and textile lining for comfort.
